The parking bays in the hotel parking area are very tight and the bed we slept in was rather “tired”; both bed and mattress need replacement. But the staff were excellent, the hotel is centrally situated in walking distance of most city centre attractions such as the SeaCity Museum and Art Gallery. We’ll be happy to stay there again. Overall, good value for the money.

Room was clean but tired, needs repainting etc. We were in room 15 which faces a multi storey car park which was brightly lit, curtains not adequate to block out this. Staff friendly and helpful.

There was a homeliness about The Star Hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We settled in for our stay very quickly and because of its central location and warmth of the staff we were able to relax very quickly.

Convenient location for the port of Southampton, staff were friendly and helpful and a good breakfast. Area around hotel a bit run down and hotel itself could do with a bit of a refresh but overall a comfortable stay for a reasonable price.

Really nice hotel, shame about the area being quite rough and noisy at night. Really good breakfast which is good value for money. Will stay again, just not be going out after dark!
