FA Cup 2019/20 Fixtures and Stadiums

In one of the strangest years in history it was Arsenal who emerged as surprise victors to claim their (record) 14th FA Cup beating Chelsea 2-1 in the final.

It was a bizarre year due to the suspension of the football calendar in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.  This meant that the FA Cup final did not take place until 1st August and was played behind closed doors.

Prior to the suspension in March many expected Manchester City to walk the competition but on resumption it was Chelsea and Arsenal who dominated.  Both clubs lacked form in March and probably wouldn't have made it to the final but emerged in June as two of the strongest teams post lockdown.  It goes to show football is a funny old game.
